Develop stop-motion film making skills with Let’s Animate, as children aged 11-16 devise a short film to help spread the word about Climate Change.

During this day long workshop, young filmmakers will plan an idea based on one scene, inspired by themes around climate change, local nature and the museum collections. Each filmmaker will either build a character from modelling materials to animate with.  Split into smaller groups, filmmakers will have a go at bringing their characters to life using a LET'S ANIMATE animation station. Their skills will be completed by finishing off their animations by adding sounds to their masterpiece!

The final edited content will be shared with participants following on from the workshop and will also be featured on the museum’s YouTube channel for public viewing.

Funded through Art Fund, this workshop will encapsulate ideas and themes inspired by The HERDS, a worldwide public art and climate action on an unprecedented scale, parading through cities from the Congo Basin to the Arctic circle, covering 20,000km.

Parent’s are not required to stay but are welcome to do so. Children will be required to bring a packed lunch and drink with them for during the day. Regular breaks will be built into the workshop.
