*Admission to the museum is included in the price of the art masterclass for participants. Accompanying adults will be required to pay the museum entry fee upon arrival, but they do not need a ticket for the workshop.
Dive into the exciting world of silk painting in this hands-on masterclass led by a member of the Learning Team, Amy Wilde. Young artists will explore vibrant colours, brush techniques, and creative expression while learning to paint on silk. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop will provide the guidance needed to create stunning artwork and suncatchers.
Children will experiment with various designs, from bold patterns to flowing florals, developing their unique pieces. Each child will create a wooden-effect silk suncatcher to display at home proudly.
Drawing inspiration from the inspiring Victorian silk collections in the History Gallery at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, this workshop is a fantastic opportunity for young artists to enhance their skills, get creative, and immerse themselves in the world of silk painting.
