Luke Looks Back Over his Time at the Archives
13 March 2018
Nearing the end of my 15 month traineeship with Coventry Archive, it makes perfect sense to reflect on my experiences here...
I’ve developed and learnt a great deal not only of Coventry’s rich social and industrial history but also the role access to heritage plays out in the community. Having spent time cataloguing the Dick Family collection, conserving photographic negatives of Rootes Motor Company and supporting users, I’ve experienced it first-hand.
As holder of primary sources of cultural history the archive has developed my understanding of how, and why documents should be ordered and put into context. With the guidance, support and kindness of colleagues across the Trust I’ve been provided perspectives and insights that I will take to new pastures.
