Volunteers Week: Jay's Story
05 June 2017
We continue volunteers week with a story from the brilliant Jay!
"My name is Jay and I started my volunteering role as a welcome host at the Herbert Art Gallery in September 2015. I greeted and met members of the public who came to the museum. I also helped them with their enquires and showed them where different exhibitions were. I really liked that role because it gave me a chance to meet a variety of people.
Recently I took the opportunity to change from welcome host to transcribing written notes into an Excel Spreadsheet for Megan and Grace of the Transport Museum. I am rationalising the technical drawing collection (mostly drawings of Rudge Whitworth motorcycles). I am really enjoying the role because I am comfortable with putting information into a spreadsheet and I hope I can be a great help to them"
