Halloween-themed Doze Under Dippy coming to the Herbert
25 October 2024
Fright fans have the opportunity to experience something truly unique this Halloween with a spook-tacular Doze Under Dippy event.
The Nation’s Favourite Dinosaur has been hugely successful since being loaned to Coventry’s Herbert Art Gallery & Museum from the Natural History Museum last year.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors have already viewed the iconic diplodocus cast, and a host of exciting programming around the exhibit has proven popular with residents.
Doze Under Dippy is one such event. The family-orientated evenings has seen families bed down at the venue beneath Dippy, with fun and engaging night-time activities to keep everyone entertained.
But now a Halloween-themed version is sure to be a hit for families who want something uniquely spooky to do this half-term.
Attendees are invited to dress up in their scariest costumes and get ready for a flurry of fright-themed activities, including crafting your own Zombie Dippy. Families will also be taken on a spooky after hours torchlight tour of the Herbert.
Lisa Ford, Head of Education and Learning at the museum, said: “Our Doze Under Dippy events are always popular with families having so much fun in settings which are truly unique.
“For this Halloween-themed event we have some really fun activities planned that we’re sure will be a hit with the whole family.”
This event is set to take place at the Herbert on Saturday 26 October.
Doze Under Dippy is just one of a host of activities happening across the Herbert this half term.
The same day also sees the venue welcoming Microworld - an immersive and interactive exhibition which sees visitors step into an immersive digital ecosystem created by pioneering artists Genetic Moo and produced by Lumen Studios.
Sticking with Halloween, families have the opportunity to get to grips with skeletal remains with Skulls, Spooky Skeletons and Animals which is running throughout the holiday.
Also on October 26 the Herbert presents Freaky Family Fun Day where all things strange and mysterious will be celebrated.
