Coventry Archives is looking for materials created as part of the COVID19 lockdown

We are living in an unprecedented moment in 21st-century history. A moment we will remember for the rest of our lives and one which Coventry Archives would like to be able to document to share with future generations.
To help us achieve this, we are seeking both digital and physical material which has been created by individuals in Coventry during the Covid19 lockdown, from the period of 16th March to 30th of June 2020 inclusive.
Materials could be:
- Individual experiences
- Fundraisers experiences, such as making PPE
- Experiences of national events such as VE day/Clap for Carers
Formats of material we are seeking include:
- Digital photographs [either TIFF/jpeg format 10 per individual]
- Digital videos [up to 5 mins in .MOV/mp4 format]
- Digital audio [up to 5 mins in .WAV/mp3 format]
- Diaries [either paper or digital Word/PDF/A format]
The above formats are usually the standard formats used on smartphones
How do I donate?
Prepare your material: if you can, give each file an individual name. Dates/time are automatically recorded when digital material is created. We also need separate details for each item, including:
- Geographical data - e.g. where it was captured [street name, area, or city]
- Names of individuals featured [where appropriate and consent given]
- Information about event
- Name of creator [who took the image, who the diary belonged to, etc.]

E-mail the form to Victoria Northridge, Archivist Manager at covid19archive@culturecoventry.com together with the digital item[s].
Alternatively, when we re-open, you can post your digital material on a USB stick to Coventry Archives, Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Jordan Well, Coventry, CV1 5QP or bring to Coventry Archives in person during our opening hours.
Please include a stamped addressed envelope if you wish your USB stick to be returned
Your material will be ingested into our archive for future researchers to listen/view in our research room and online through our Digital asset management system.
