This is the last chance for visitors to see the McGuires’ incredible pieces in the city before Wonder closes on September 15.
Their work brings characters to life through a series of intricate, animated, wall-mounted dollhouses and bell jars and the silent digital projections are inspired by Film Noir and focus on subject matters that juxtapose adulthood and childhood.
These imaginary worlds fit perfectly into the overall theme of Wonder, where seven remarkable artists were inspired by the museum’s collection and the city of Coventry to take you beyond gallery walls with immersive fun for visitors of all ages.

Davy said: “Our involvement with Hull City of Culture has been an incredible experience in bringing our work to new audiences; we loved working with the creative community there and we were really inspired by the enthusiasm of the people for art and culture.
“Just like Hull, we hope that the City of Culture will regenerate the area and bring a new sense of creativity and investment in the arts to Coventry.”
Kristin added: “Our work is inspired by the seedy, shady underworld of Film Noir and the idea of the Femme Fatale and the fallen heroine - so far the feedback has been incredibly positive and we’ve had comments from visitors saying we’ve inspired them to pursue art, which is a real highlight from the exhibition for us.
“Coventry is a cultural hub, something which will continue to grow ahead of 2021, and to be a part of that has been a real honour and privilege.”

Following the exhibition’s launch at the end of June, it has received rave reviews from visitors with over 13,000 visitors immersing themselves in the enchanting new worlds of Wonder.
Joy Corcec, Communications Officer for Culture Coventry – the charity which runs the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, said: “What makes the McGuires’ work so fascinating is that they play their own characters in the films, relying on silent digital projections to tell their stories.
“Wonder allows any visitor to experience the medium of modern technology in art, with just a month left, you don’t want to miss this enchanting exhibition!”
Wonder has been curated by Dr Rachel Marsden and also features work by Antonio Roberts, Edie Jo Murray, Julia Snowdin, Ben Javens and Lucy McLauchlan.
The exhibition is free and will run until 4pm on Sunday, September 15.
