Final Fridays to return to the Herbert this month

The next instalment of the unique free event which allows visitors to explore the Herbert Art Gallery after hours will take place this month.

Final Fridays is a cultural celebration which takes place the last Friday of every second month. The events offer artistic and entertainment activities designed to engage the local community and visitors, including live music, a bar, street performances, art exhibitions and other interactive experiences.

The goal of Final Fridays is to celebrate and promote the vibrant cultural scene in Coventry, encouraging people to explore the city and participate in its diverse offerings.

The events are themed, usually linking in with an event or exhibition which is happening at the museum. The next instalment of Final Fridays takes place on 26 July and will be linked to JOY…Inspired by Nature, a brand new exhibition which opens on 19 July and will see a gallery transformed into an eye-popping wonderland that playfully reconnects visitors with nature.

The free event will feature a host of workshops as well as a chance to meet and network with drinks, as well as the unique opportunity to explore the exhibitions after hours. Guests are invited to don their favourite JOYful outfit and be prepared to connect with nature and all the things that fill them with glee and cheer.

"We are excited to welcome the community to the Herbert Art Gallery for Final Fridays X JOY," said a spokesperson for the Herbert. "This event is a wonderful opportunity for people to come together, celebrate the arts, and experience the vibrant culture of Coventry.

“It is a fantastic way to meet new people or just to spend a summer evening immersed in the arts with friends. Whether you're a seasoned art enthusiast or simply looking for a fun and enriching night out, Final Fridays X JOY promises something for everyone.

“We look forward to seeing everyone there and sharing in the joy that art brings.”
