Last chance to see Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Herbert

Animal lovers and nature enthusiasts are being encouraged to make the most of the 59th edition of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year currently being hosted at Coventry’s Herbert Art Gallery & Museum.

Thousands of people have already visited the venue which has hosted the stunning lightbox version of the wonderful competition since October, but the exhibition will close on 1 April.

As the exhibition approaches its final weeks visitors to the venue can take advantage of this final chance to appreciate the beauty of nature captured through the lenses of talented photographers from around the world.

Taking in serene landscapes or intimate glimpses of wildlife, the exhibition showcases the wonders of the natural world, but also the threats currently being posed to it.

The Herbert is the only venue in England besides the Natural History Museum to have the lightbox edition of the exhibition, which uses digital lighting to bring each image vividly to life alongside an atmospheric nature soundtrack.

The Herbert’s Rosie Addenbrooke said: "We've been delighted to host the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, and we want to express our gratitude to everyone who has made it a memorable experience.

"This is the last opportunity for our community to come together and appreciate the beauty and fragility of our natural world in this exhibition."

Pauline Robert, Head of WPY Programming: “This year's unforgettable images celebrate the beauty of the natural world but also the devastating impact climate change and human activities can have on wildlife.

“It's wonderful that this exhibition can be seen around the globe, inspiring a love of nature whilst also educating and spreading awareness of important issues the natural world continues to face.”
