Arup – Living with the World’s Tallest Statue

Join engineers from leading civil engineering group Arup as they talk about meeting the structural
and logistical challenges of constructing a 182m statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (1875-1950).
The statue is currently being built on Sadhu Bet Island in the Gujarat which is due for completion in 2018.
Hear about Arup’s local work on the Bridge project in Coventry. The group have been busy working with
Imagineer and Coventry schools to design a structure for the Cathedral’s Centenary of the Diocese
celebrations in 2018. Plus get a chance to see the full-scale version in VR.
