Our Services

Accessing archive material

You will need to make an appointment.  Bookings for the production of documents must be received at the latest by 3.30pm the previous day.

You will need to have a CARN reader’s ticket or bring some identification showing both your name and address if you do not have one.

You are advised to contact us prior to your visit to establish that the correct documents are being produced. To get the most out of your visit it is best to have a clear idea of what you are trying to achieve. When you first arrive and talk to our staff, try to be as clear as possible about what it is you are trying to research. We will then be able to suggest the best methods to explore our resources.

We produce a series of in-depth guides to our records and a number of basic user guides providing a general overview and helping you start your research.
